Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are your shipping policies?
All journals and grimoires are shipped USPS Priority Mail which takes about 3 days to arrive once the package has been shipped. We ship once a week, usually on Fridays, however if you need your grimoire or journal sooner, just ask and we will ship it sooner. Shipping within the United States is included in the price. Shipping outside the United States can get quite expensive so if you are outside the United States please visit the Shipping Info page for an international price list.
2. Why is each grimoire and journal priced differently?
Pricing is based on the cost of materials and time that go into making each book. Grimoires and journals with brands, conchos or other special additions may be priced higher than plain books. We use a variety of leathers including veg-tan leather and extra soft, high-quality leathers that can cost anywhere from $120 to $400 a sheet. One sheet of leather makes between 4-7 large grimoires. On top of that Priority shipping is included in the price and for a single X-large grimoire shipping costs just under $16. Each X-Large grimore uses an entire bottle of stain which costs $6.75 a bottle. We must also figure in paper, the cost of professionally hole punching the paper, cord to tie the books which is $20 a roll so all in all it can cost between $60 to $100 just to make one book that we sell for $120 to 140 and often times less than that. Our grimoires are much less expensive than 99% of other leather grimoires of similar size and thickness.
3. I really want to buy a large grimoire but I cannot afford your prices. Can I get a discount?
We do mark our books down on special occasions such as during holidays or during giveaways but otherwise we do not offer special discounts because we are already selling our journals at ridiculously low prices. We cannot afford to take a loss on our sales. Our profit is around $20 to $40 per grimoire. Our profit on 10" journals is less than $12.
5. Can you show me step-by-step how to make journals like yours and help me start my own business selling them?
I'm sorry, no. We are not in the business of helping give away our hard work so that you can start a business which would compete with our own. While this may seem harsh, we have worked especially hard to create quality books at very low prices and we want to keep it this way.
6. Do the Large grimoires stay open on their own?
Yes. Sometimes the leather can be a bit stiff at first but after you open and close the book a few times it will easily lay open on its own.
7. Can you show photos of a book opened?
You can see a photo of one of our opened grimoires HERE.
